Frequently Asked Questions

1) Where are you based ? We are based in Mere in Wiltshire.

2) How do I get my photos to you ? Just send them to us using Royal Mail Special Delivery. If you have over 1000 photos, you could shop around online for a parcel service like parcel2go.com which may be cheaper. Provided it is tracked you will be fine.

3) How quickly do you scan them ? We aim to turn most orders around within 3 -4 working days. We now offer a fast track service for urgent orders where we commit to 2 working days return. Our workloads vary and turn around times can vary accordingly from the same day to a maximum of 10 days.

4) How do you get the photos back to us ? We use Business Post - make sure you put down a shipping address where somebody is able to sign for them as delivery will be between 9 and 6 pm

5) What's the quality like ? The quality of the scan is excellent - your photos will look the same on screen and the resolution is similar to a 5 mega pixel digital camera. We can scan at 300 dpi or 600 dpi to suit although 600 dpi is more expensive as it takes us longer.

6) Do you offer any discounts ? Yes we do. We want lots of recommendations so provide vouchers each time you use our service. These can be passed onto your friends and family as well.

7) Do the photos need to be sorted ? Ideally yes. We are a volume scanning service so need you to prepare the photos for us. We will scan your photos into one folder but can use a blank separator sheet between batches so you can easily identify them when you import the photo to your PC or Mac package.

8) Where Do I send My Photos? Send your photos to our offices at Click2Scan Ltd, North Street, Mere, Wilts BA12 6HH

9) Do You Scan Slides? Yes we do - you can order these on the online store - click the Scanning Services tab and select Slide Scanning.

10) Do You Scan Negatives Yes we do - you can buy this online - click Scanning Service above.

11) Can I Have More than One Disc Yes you can - you can choose that option when you place your order

12) Can I Bring the Photos to You ? Yes you can - we are out in the wilds of South Wilthsire but we are more than happy to receive deliveries by hand. However, please note we have never lost a single photo and nobody has lost photos sending them to us so sending by Royal Mail Special Delivery is very safe.

13) Will You Ship to Ireland or Europe ? Yes no problem. You can buy online or complete an order form and send us your photos. We will then scan them and send them back to you charging you the exact rate based on the weight of the photos. Our delivery partners ship all across Europe and Ireland.

14) Do You Hold a Copy of the Scanned Photos Once They Have Been Scanned ? Yes definitely. We will send the scanned photos back to you on a CD / DVD but we will still hold a copy of the project on our server and won't delete this for at least a month until we are certain that you have received them back safely. This means we have a backup in the event of a problem with the disc or transit. We won't reproduce these photos in anyway or compromise your privacy we just need to ensure your precious photos are safe.

6/6/2008 How does the 600 dpi upgrade offer work.

Answers:Our usual 600 dpi pricing is twice the price of 300 dpi. We are currently running a 25% discount off the published 600 dpi price. This is equivalent to a half price upgrade. ie 1000 photos should be £198 at 600 dpi but we will do this for £148.50. Normal price of the upgrade is £99 so half of that is £49.50.

6/6/2008 Do I need 600 dpi ?.

Answers:Screen resolution is actually 72 dpi so for web sites no. However, lots of our customers are now dong slide shows on large 40" plus screens and the 600 dpi resolution allows a small 6" x 4" holiday snap to be displayed full screen or reproduced larger than the original.
